Take a Risk. It will change your life.
Looking back at your career and life to-date, is there a place in your life where you wished you had been a litter braver, trusted yourself more, and taken that leap of faith?
When speaking to people in their mid-forties and beyond, many tell me that if they could do their career over again, they’d have taken more risks, settled less and been more confident in their potential. Even if you know what you want, you still don’t do it and your life in your own cesspool of negativity. Maybe you can relate.
I would argue, human beings are innately risk averse and afraid of putting our vulnerability out on a limb. But isn’t the status quo boring and unfulfilling?
When have you ever heard a millionaire say, “My success comes from taking no risks, underestimating myself, and taking no action”?…. Not any millionaire I have heard of.
Millionaires are leaders. Millionaires follow their hearts and have learned: without trial and error — and risk taking — you remain stagnant, predictable, and the worst, you will become complacent. Risks are about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone (with good judgement) and letting yourself take a step that might be uneasy at first.
I think everyone wants to be a leader, whether its behind the scenes or not. To be a leader, risk taking is an essential element, which means you have to overcome the fear of failure. You don’t become a leader by the fear of looking like fool, seeming too aggressive or fearing failure. You get off your ass, stop whining and capitalize on the opportunity in front of you.
Are you a weak person that says….
“If bad things happen, other people will be blamed”?
You sure as hell better not be. If so, continue living your cesspool of negativity and just give up!
The reality is…. “If bad things happen, YOU are to blame”
You set goals, you make your goals!
Are you a quitter? If so, stop reading this blog now.
And if this statement just offended you, just quit.
If you are in any field, you will face rejection and if you can’t handle one blog post telling you to Buck Up or F$#& off, then you need to get some help.
In life you will face rejection at all turns, its about how you will handle it. Will you blame others or take responsibility and move forward with confidence and determination?
I sure as hell want to be the second one and with the second attitude I will be the one making the big bucks while others whine, sitting in their own filth.
